I have a 1989 Benz 190e 2.6 it has about 185k miles body is clean inside and out, car runs good, but not perfect. im debating to whether keep it and put money into it or sell it and invest in another, newer benz? Thankfully, today’s 1985 Mercedes-Benz 190E has four wheels and a vastly better-appointed interior than yesterday’s olde-timey mail carrier. That’s good since it’s also a good deal more
Benz’s 190E Evo II, equipped with a wider and highly functional body kit had improved aerodynamics. The Evo 2’s body, designed by A Stuttgart University professor, enabled the German muscle car to increase its downforce and reduce its coefficient of drag to a mind-boggling 0.29 cd.
This is the one-of-one Mercedes-Benz C63 DTM Evolution, the unholy spawn of a pokey old 1985 Mercedes-Benz 190E sedan and a 2010 C63 AMG—the body of the former, the complete guts of the latter, with a fully custom interior whose astounding quality could shame most OEMs. Strapped in and behind the wheel, my only instructions are to hold back As I mentioned on another post on this forum, the EZL unit fitted when I bought the car was the wrong one (for a 1.8), so I've changed that for a (more) correct one (from a W124 300E, which seems to have almost exactly the same spec as the 190E 2.6 unit). I also replaced the plugs and air filter at the same time - neither were in a very good state.

The 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II was a limited production model designed to homologate the Mercedes-Benz 190E for the historic Group A racing class. Similar to its rivals, the BMW M3 and Alfa Romeo 155 Q4, it was powered by a 16 valve engine with 235 hp (175 kW). 1.-.

With automatic transmissions, a 190E 2.6 averaged 19.2 mpg, compared to 20.1 mpg in a 190 2.3. Handling and roadholding are extremely capable on both models. The taut Mercedes-Benz suspension, while allowing low-speed bumps to thump through to the seat, is quite absorbent in most situations. It also helps produce good high-speed control. A four-speed automatic was optional, but sharply out of character for a machine with a 7,000-RPM redline. Standard on all 16-valvers was a 3.27:1 final-drive ratio in a limited-slip differential. Like any good sports car, the 190E 2.3-16 offered more than simply a high-revving engine under the hood. Along with a suspension lowered by 15mm, the K1WliS.
